Coastal Performing Arts Academy opened nine years ago by owner and director Dawn Oswald providing high-quality dance classes to enhance the overall development of the child. We provide a safe and child-centered enviroment to encourage our students to explore dance with qualified, nurturing teacher.
We proudly offer ballet tap jazz lyrical pointe musical theatre hip hop ballroom adult classes. We believe that dance training encourages young people to develop a positive self-image as they increase awareness of their physical being. Along with improving coordination skills and developing muscular awareness, dance classes give children the freedom to express themselves through movement.
CPAA specialilzes in pre-school dance curriculum and competition/ performance companies.

Coastal Starz Dance Company was invited to perform at the halftime show at the Globetrotters performance at the Savannah Civic Center in the Spring of 2014.
Elizabeth Brookman moved to China in 2007 to join the Suzhou Ballet Theater. After one year with the company she moved to Shanghai to continue performing and teaching for the company Jazz Du Funk until 2015. Originally from South Carolina, she bagan her training with Ann Brodie at the Carolina Ballet. Elizabeth had further training at the Atlanta Ballet School, School of American Ballet, Houston Ballet Academy, American Ballet Theater, Joffrey Ballet and graduated from North Carolina School of the Arts majoring in Ballet. After graduation she joined the Morgan/Scott Ballet Company in New York City. Leaving a ballet company to try something a little different, she joining the cast onboard the luxury cruise ship Cunard's Vistafjord. Falling in love with the opportunity to perform and travel she stayed on ships for five years and was able to visit over one hundred countries. The shows onboard included classical ballet repertoire such as "Swan Lake", "Nutcracker", "Aida",and "Carmen", as well as musical theater repertoire such as "Cats","Mama Mia", "Caberet", "Chicago", and "Thoroughly Modern Millie". After travelling the world, Elizabeth looks forward to calling her home Savannah and sharing the experiences that dance have allowed her to inspire future performers. here to add text.
